ARE LEVEL 3 BEAUTY THERAPISTS ABLE TO ADMINISTER BOTOX AND DERMAL FILLERS WITHOUT BEING SUPERVISED?
Yes, our training is specifically designed to meet the HEE regulations and to allow beauty therapists to train with us and gain insurance upon completion of our course.
ARE THEY GOING TO BE STOPPING BEAUTY THERAPISTS FROM DOING BOTOX AND DERMAL FILLERS?
No it doesn't appear so - the HEE recognises that beauty therapists are able to do these treatments with the correct training. Our course is tailored to meet the recommendations set out by the HEE. Our insurers require Level 3 Beauty as a minimum requirement for you to be able to take our course.
WHO ACCREDITS YOUR COURSE?
Our course is accredited by CPD - Continuing Professional Development. We provide you with a company certificate from Derma Pro Training and also a CPD certificate upon completion of our course.
WHY DON'T OFQUAL ACCREDIT YOUR COURSE?
Botox and Dermal Filler courses are not nationally recognised courses such as GCSE's, A-Levels and NVQ's. The reason for this is because there are no governing bodies for this industry.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THERAPISTS THAT ARE ALREADY QUALIFIED IN BOTOX AND DERMAL FILLERS IF THEY CHANGE THE LAW?
They will not stop beauty therapists from doing Botox and fillers - they may add further training that they will need to do but this is the worst case scenario.
WHAT IS THE JCCP AND WHY HAVE THERAPISTS BEEN BANNED FROM THEIR REGISTER?
The JCCP is a voluntary register in which therapists and medics used to be able to register to. They have now changed their rules to say therapists can no longer register with them. This has absolutely no effect on therapists being able to train, it is purely just a list where you can register your name to say you are qualified in aesthetics.
WHAT QUALIFICATION WILL WE GET ON COMPLETION OF YOUR COURSE?
If you are guided by the HEE table, then you will be trained to Level 6 as a therapist or Level 7 as a medic.
DO WE RECEIVE A LEVEL 6/7 CERTIFICATE UPON COMPLETION OF YOUR COURSE?
There isn't such thing as a Level 6/7 official qualification at the moment as there is no governing body. The HEE only provides a guide to what qualifications SHOULD be but aren't.
HOW DO WE GET BOTOX FROM PRESCRIBERS? WHAT DO THEY NEED TO DO WHEN THEY COME? HOW LONG DOES THE PRESCRIPTION LAST?
We would give you details of prescribers that will prescribe for you upon completion of our course. You will need to arrange a date for your prescriber to come and do consultations with your clients face to face. We recommend getting all of your clients in on one day so that you can get the prescriptions all at once.
